Former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown Honored by NFL Alumni

Former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown was honored at the 47th annual NFL Alumni Golf Outing on Monday.  Brown played in the NFL from 1985 until 2002, mostly for the Lions.  Brown was named the 2026 Alumnus of the year.

The 2026 Alumnus of the Year award recognizes an individual whose accomplishments, character, and commitment to others embody the very best of the alumni community. This year, that honor was proudly awarded to Lomas Brown.

While Brown enjoyed an outstanding football career, those who know him best point to something even more significant—his character. Friends, former teammates, and colleagues describe him as authentic, humble, and genuinely caring. A respected mentor and community leader, he has built a reputation for treating everyone with kindness, making people feel valued, and giving back to others.
