The Lomas Brown Jr. Golf Classic returned for its second year on July 13, 2026, bringing together Detroit sports legends, community leaders, business partners, and supporters for a memorable day at the Country Club of Detroit in Grosse Pointe Farms.
Hosted by Lomas Brown Jr. in partnership with WJR 760 AM, the sold-out event raised support for the programs and initiatives of the Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation, which has been committed to helping youth in Southeast Michigan since 1991.
Take a look back at the 2026 Lomas Brown Golf Classic highlights, and also the people who came together to support youth across Southeast Michigan.
A Day Focused on Community and Youth
The Golf Classic is about much more than a day on the golf course. It is an opportunity to bring people together around a shared commitment to creating greater opportunities for young people.
The Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation supports youth through academic achievement and tutoring, scholarships, career-readiness opportunities, leadership development, physical fitness and nutrition education, life skills, and technology exposure. The Golf Classic helps provide important support for these efforts and allows the Foundation to continue expanding its impact throughout Southeast Michigan.
The 2026 tournament featured a shotgun start, food and beverages throughout the day, and a post-golf reception where guests could continue connecting and celebrating the Foundation’s mission.

Detroit Sports Legends Join the Celebration
The event also brought together a remarkable group of Detroit sports figures and community leaders. Among those in attendance were Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, former Detroit Lions Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Porcher, former NFL running back Earnest Byner, Detroit Lions radio play-by-play announcer Dan Miller, and WJR sports host and Detroit Lions in-game host Anthony Bellino.
The D Business event photos also captured many of the individuals and supporters who helped make the day special, including Lomas Brown alongside former teammate Robert Porcher, as well as numerous business and community leaders who came together to support the Foundation.
For Lomas, the event represents an opportunity to use his platform and relationships to make a lasting difference. “As I take the lead in hosting this event, my focus remains on creating opportunities for young people and bringing our community together to invest in the next generation.”
