As we look back on 2025, the Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation is proud to reflect on a year filled with meaningful impact, powerful partnerships, and transformative experiences for youth across Southeast Michigan. This year was marked by tremendous growth – not just in the number of initiatives we supported, but in the depth of opportunity we were able to provide to the communities we serve.
Throughout 2025, the Foundation continued its mission to inspire, educate, and empower youth through hands-on experiences and community-driven programming. Some of the year’s most impactful initiatives included:
- LEAP Camp, where students explored emerging fields like technology, AI, drones, healthcare careers, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, including immersive experiences at institutions such as Schoolcraft College.
- Community engagement events that brought Detroit Lions players and alumni together with students for hands-on technology and innovation lessons – giving youth early exposure to the tools shaping tomorrow’s workforce.
- The Lomas Brown Golf Classic, which brought together Lions legends, community leaders, and supporters for a successful fundraiser dedicated to expanding youth programs and resources.
- Media-driven initiatives such as the S.A.Y. Detroit Radiothon on WJR, helping raise critical funds to fight hunger and homelessness across the region.
Each of these initiatives represents more than an event. They reflect our commitment to creating access, mentorship, and opportunity for the next generation.
